Class on May 27th


For the class on May 27, the teacher mentioned the importance of having a professional profile picture on your social medias, for example Youtube, Gmail account, Twitter, etc. As a professional style photo could make someone look more professional in a communicative context.

Another thing the teacher mentioned in class on May 27th, is the importance and ways to write a good paragraph. Usually in a paragraph it starts with a topic sentence that tells the readers what the paragraph will be about, followed with supporting sentences to prove the claim from the topic sentence is true. The paragraph should end with concluding sentence to end the paragraph nicely and strongly.

Additionally, we were also taught to write a bio statement. A bio statement is a lot like writing a well-formed paragraph. In the sense that it should include a topic sentence, evidence, elaboration and a conclusion. In a bio statement, the topic sentence introduces me and the body sentences should provide information about my education, work experience and publications––if I have any.

I have never written a bio statement before, however I think this is a great chance to start learning how to. Especially when I have a teacher who will be there to correct my mistakes on my bio statements and help me shape it into a more professional writing.

Class on July 29

Today for the class on July 29th, we had our real presentation. Me and Iman practiced a few times before today's presentation to make sure that everything will run as smoothly as it should. The whole presentation took us about 30 minutes and I would say it went quite smoothly. After the presentation the teacher gave us some inputs regarding our presentation skills and our slideshows. Class on July 1st

For class on July 1st, the teacher talked about marketing tactics. One of it is called S.W.O.T which is short for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunity and Threats. This is one of the marketing tactics that was used from a long time ago and is still used today. Another one is called the 4Ps of marketing, which is Product, Price, Place and Promotion. And then as time went on, people added 3 more Ps into the strategy, turning it into Product, Price, Place, Promotion, Process, Physical Environment and People. And a more recent marketing tactic is called AIDA, AISDALSLove which is short for Awareness, Interest, Desire, Action, Like, Share and Love. Class on June 24

For the class on June 24, the teacher capitalized on the importance on making a good slide show. One way of making a good presentation that the teacher recommended was to use the PSE slides. PSE slide is a slide that is more visual. With maximum of 5 words per slideshow and it taking only 5 secs for the viewer to understand a slide, it enables the viewers to be able to focus more on the presenter and what was being presented at the time. On top of that, the teacher also introduced various ways of marketing. A few of the examples are by infographics, brochure, magazine articles and websites. We were also taught on ways to make a logo for our website by using Canva.
